This compact acrylic painting on stretched canvas has such a serene feel about it. One of four in a mini-collection entitled Waterlilies, they all evoke the energy of Monet’s well-known artwork. 

Many people have said that this little series reminds them of holidays and looking down upon islands from the aeroplane window. Others have said they look fairy like. What do you see?

Made by first laying down texture using modelling paste, there is a veil like quality created by layering transparent and opaque layers of acrylic paint. The painting is finished with the addition of gold paint to give it an element of luxury, then high quality gloss varnish. 

These four paintings work together or as stand alone works. The picture wraps around the sides of the canvas, meaning that it looks finished without requiring framing.
